Merlin
According to Borg, "Merlin" will be the 1st version of Opera to fully identify as Opera. It will also likely be Opera 9.
Borg does not, however, say that "Merlin" will be the next version of Opera.
Anyway, there is anguille sous roche and questions need answers: What is Merlin?
I think of 2 possible answers:
- [1] Merlin is the new code name for Presto. Version 9 should include the new rendering engine. The name changes from Presto to Merlin
[2] Opera has decided to give names rather that version numbers to future releases. Not unheard of.
What's your take?
[2] And those are internal names. I don’t think they will be used externally like Apple’s cats.
Rumor has it that Opera shall be using various elk names for their delivered babies :pM.
